CHAPTER 7 Croak!

I am inside the pod. I can’t see anything through the walls of the pod except for shadowy figures. I hear voices. Suddenly the pod breaks. I spill out, along with the water. The voices gasp. I stand up and see my reflection in a gleaming metal cabinet… the face of a green lizard!

Newton woke up in a cold sweat. Sunlight streamed through his dorm room window.

It was just a dream, he thought gratefully.

Then Woller flew up to him.

“Ca-wee! Ca-wee! Ca-wee!”

“I’m awake, Woller. Quiet down!” Newton groaned. Woller dropped a note in front of him and flew away. Newton opened it.

I’m using my portal pass today to go see my parents. I’ll be back in time for rehearsal. Can you keep an eye on Peewee for me? I’ve programmed robotic food and water dispensers for the other monsters in the rescue lab, but he needs a friend, too. Thank you,
